Dear everyone. When I tried to get commissions in person back in college, the sweetest thing happened. A girl asked me to draw Mario and Peach proposing to each other as she was getting married herself. Her fiance at the time was a huge fan of Mario and she wanted to make a gift for them.

I wish I grew up with Nintendo as it had an overall friendly aesthetic even now. I honestly never had my own Nintendo portable console until I was 11-12, and my parents were often seeing me and my brother fight over a Pokemon Leaf game file. With that Gameboy Advanced SP, I had something outside of the internet or anime to help keep me company on the painful journey into middle school. When I moved to a different town, I was still anxious as I was worried I wouldn't have as many friends in the new middle school and high school I was going to. I got a Nintendo DS lite where I can remember my favorite kind of games were coming out on there.

Though I haven't really gotten into Mario until the internet introduced me to Vivian and Prince Peasley from Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door and Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga respectively. Oddly enough, if it wasn't for Mario, I probably wouldn't have the strong bond I have with my significant other who I am now in a long distance relationship with. I still try to contact him and we have both gotten into a lot of the same things. Hell, I even introduced him to the RPG I grew up the most with, Legend of Legaia.

But enough about me. Mario and Pokemon also did something for me in a way (as well as Etrian Odyssey but ah well). They helped me when I provoked a bunch of trolls and they chased me off of deviantART. I was enjoying Pokemon even now, but while I haven't gotten to play the new Mario and Luigi games, I loved drawing these guys still and I was able to meet people to talk to about Mario and/or video games in general.

So when this person asked me to draw them this, I gave them only $5 off because I was not only touched by their story but the series helped me in a way get through life (even if I only played Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story) but even if I only watched my brother play Super Mario 64 when I was younger I knew vividly who these characters are and also supported Mario and Peach.
