I was going to submit this a little later in the day, but I'm too happy with how this came out ///w///

Starriear are easy-going creatures that float about in space! But spending their lives in zero gravity has left their legs somewhat weak, so they rest on small asteroids, a single one of which they may plop down on for years.

They're bottom-heavy, with fatty tails and ears long enough to hide their faces behind. The star-shaped ends of their ears are sensory organs, mainly for picking up movement and traces of energy.

They have no particular appetite, fine with whatever drifts by that they can break down. And without any natural predator in the region of space they reside in either, they can afford not being particularly active, seen quietly wool-gathering more than anything else. Though they can risk moving if they sense they're in danger from flying debris or space winds.

While not unsocial, they tend to drift away from each other in their sleep. Finding another of their kind - anyone, really - from very far away means either abandoning their asteroid or pushing it where they wish to go, and they may have to debate trying for a long time. Though most find the effort worthwhile eventually. Daydreaming with company is fun!

It's not impossible for them to survive on a larger planet surface, though they'd probably miss the freedom of movement they had as gravity increases....

That's all I've got for now! This one here is my boy, and I've only now gotten to draw him past a doodle stage since like December ajdfk. I ended up making and keeping more than one base, so he could be an example of more if there's interest in these babes?

In any case, this is a closed species of mine, galaxbii; not cross-posted; please do not recreate/copy/take or anything else.
