Wolf in Suspenders by Hildebaron

Wolf in Suspenders

Hildebaron

"The downside of travelling in a second-hand carriage led by a third rate automaton is that you never know where you'll end up, or why.

You might, for example, be led into a swamp and your mechanical horse may dig itself so deeply into a bog that you're most certainly doomed.

But that might, in theory, lead to your being rescued by a wolf with little in the way of words but much in the way of strength.

You might not be brave enough to give him more than a shy thank you, but you'd later redraw him as your heroic strongman.

...All hypothetical of course."
