Nathan is part of the same team as Lily, and actually outranks her, which is why he's allowed to have a weapon of sorts. The stun baton/staff isn't really as powerful as it looks here; it's designed to subdue as necessary without causing any lasting damage, and even then is typically only used in situations where brute strength has failed. Nate's kind of an expert with it though, and uses it mostly as an extension he can use to trip people or jab a pressure point from a safe distance.

He's...not usually as angry as he looks here. In fact he's pretty deadpan and doesn't emote much in general.
