Double Banded Dusky Canadian Goose by HAZARD

Double Banded Dusky Canadian Goose

HAZARD

I got to mount a Dusky Canadian Goose(a subspecies of Canada Goose). The lucky guy who shot this bird had the luck of getting one that was double banded! This is kinda the equivalent of the guy getting a trophy buck, in this case it's for birds. The hunter gets to call in where the bird was shot and is given a certificate. This guy was shot on a reservation so when he came in he had a wire going through his nostrils to indicate where it was shot.

Also! since this Canada Goose is a Dusky that means that there numbers are few, but still ok to shoot. The only problem is, is that if you shoot one that's your last goose/bird for the year. You have to turn in your license and have to retake your bird hunting course and your not allowed to hunt until next year. So this was a very expensive goose.

I had alot of fun doing this one, and the hunter was nice enough to give us the meat(which was delicious).

Mounted, and posed by me. I did the rock, but my boss did the finishing staining and little habitat and attaching it to the walnut pedestal.
