Riding Death

HAZARD

This is something different from what i was planning this week, but I think i'm allowed to do something off, especially if it's raising awareness.

The Tiger in Chinese Culture is believed to be the protector of the Dead and is sometimes being depicted being ridden by immortals and deities whom have cheated death.

In this painting I had an Orangutan ride the Tiger, hoping somehow the orangutans whom are critically endangered from the fires in Sumatra will cheat it, but the fire is catching up to them. Apparently the Sumatra Tiger is also threatened by the fires(hence why he is in this picture) even though he is the protector of the dead, he too is threatened by the flames.

Sumatra is a part of northern Indonesia, and their style in art is somewhat similar to Asian art, so i sorta threw a style together for this from off my head.

I was also planning on burning the side where the fire was coming from....maybe i still will....maybe not ):

Done with Watercolor and Ink(this has been my second try with watercolor since highschool so it looks shotty XD )
