it has been years since i really worked on a line drawing so i am surprised this is turning out as well as it is. the only thing i am doing different is treating it the same way i would a painting
Like the one ref I gave you, line by line marker and ink traditional art wouldn't have any edge to it without the line art base, I think. And it's always a risk of having to start something over again when you make a mistake coloring. So the sketch to ink stage was like saving a layer you could trace to start over. I'm assuming having a sharp line layer to use in digital art could only be something more to bring a crispness to curves and seams?
