Tekita the Spider woman

hattonslayden

Spiders Creep me out.

So, in order to try and get over this phobia i decides to design some spider characters to help me get over it.

Tekita is one of the wardens of our planet. it is her job, along with millions of others, is to make sure the countless satellites that are scattered throughout our system continue to scatter and scramble any incoming signals that may alert humanity of extra-terrestrial life. why, because we are a buncha psychos. compared to the rest of the galaxy we are the most violent, blood-thirsty savages with WAY too much grasp on technology.

the general fear is that if humanity as a whole found out that not only was there intelligent life amongst the star, but that is was down right bursting with it, we would unite under a banner of intergalactic genocide, because no-one out there looks like us. no spocks, no 'blue people', no humaliens of any kind.

Tekita is old, nearing the end of her career and a welcomed retirement. she came in to the job as an idealist, hoping to find enough concrete evidence to prove that everyone was wrong about humanity. now she does not like us. she does not like our capacity for out right hate, our propensity towards violence, our greed, but most of all, she does not like the fact that she could not walk down a street of any of our cities without starting a panic.

her story is not one of romance but a moral discussion. on one of her patrols she stumbles across the first manned mission to Mars and it is in danger. pelted by micro meteorites the ship looks doomed, along with all crew. Tekita knows that she is under no obligation to help but she'll be damned before she succumbs to what she considers to be "Human Morality" and swoops in for the save.

most the crew are too injured to do anything but sit in regen tanks. one astronaut is not. she keeps this one by her side not for company (even though she really needs company) but to make Damn sure by the end of this she'll have at least one human that treats her like an equal. not a high and mighty aloof alien, of a stuff of nightmares monster. but a person, legitimate and equal in all that might en-tale.

needless to say, there will be much arguing.
