i have been quiet a lot because i have been trying to make myself "understand" color in a way i feel most artist take for granted. i have a small ammount of red green color blindness mostly around the greens. many yellow greens will look yellow to me and some look brown. but i don't think my actual color blindness has been the problem so much as the mind set "i am color blind so i cant choose good color schemes" which i have been working hard to break out of that mind set.
another thing that i think contributed to it was from my miniture painting back when i was a child. i never painted in terms of theme, temperature and scheme. instead i painted with the mindset "this chain is made of metal so i will use this dark metal paint for the groves and this lighter metalic paint for the edges" which tunneled my understanding of color
i still have a way to go but i have gotten past the first hurdle of my own mental block about learing how to best use color
