Pogo style sketches part 2/2

GuineaPigDan

Here's the second part of my characters being drawn in the style of the comic strip Pogo. There were plenty of cats, lions and tigers, and dogs drawn by Walt Kelly that I could reference. Kelly also did a few cartoon self portraits that I could reference to see how he'd draw human characters. But how would he draw eastern dragons? Again, I had to take some liberties. The closest references I could find was one comic Kelly drew that had a dinosaur ("Prehisteria: A Primer" from the 1966 Pogo Poop Book*) and some Pogo strips from the 60s where he drew a dragon to satirize communist China. Dunno if those comics would be politically correct by today's standards, but I was very limited in what I could reference to figure out what a Walt Kelly style dragon would look like. These drawings were fun to do! I wonder what style I should try next?

*Despite the name, the Pogo Poop Book has nothing to do with defecation or toilet humor. It's just a silly title.
