How the beta Pokémon leaks REALLY happened

GuineaPigDan

I didn't date this drawing, but I'll guess I did this sometime after the Nintendo gigaleak in 2020. I thought this would be a funny drawing, but as usual I procrastinated on finishing it so I'll just post the sketch in scraps. For those not in the know, in 2018 the '97 Spaceworld demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver leaked on the web and revealed tons of beta Pokémon designs. Two years later, a massive leak of data from multiple Nintendo games spilled onto the web, including additional leaks of beta Red and Green content, a '99 Spaceworld demo of Gen II, and later a leaked beta of Diamond and Pearl. The question arises, how did all these leaks occur? The "official" story is some naughty hackers in their basements stole a bunch of data from Nintendo's archives. But that was just a cover story for what REALLY happened. Team Rocket was trying to smuggle these beta Pokémon out of Gamefreak headquarters, unfortunately they were very messy and all the beta creatures got away and escaped thru the internet. Team Rocket covered their tracks by framing a bunch of innocent programmers as the culprits, which fooled Nintendo's lawyers. I swear upon my copy of Pokémon Legends Arceus this story is true.
