Meet the meat behemoth. Its been a while since I've time to do a creature doodle, so it was nice to finally get something down.

This species is for the Vargr storyline. Meat behemoths were genetically engineered to meet the demands of consumers. This is the American meat behemoth- there are different ones in different countries. Since the plague, these guys like many other once-captive animals have become feral and roam across the country in massive herds. They are massive creatures and are the most environmentally destructive animals in this time period. Being both browsers and grazers, they can wipe out forests and grazing land in weeks. As such, they must be culled quite often to keep them under control. Some settlements have domesticated them again, but they are difficult to keep seeing as they are bad tempered and require so much food.

Vargr hunt them regularly and are the only predators that can kill them without the use of man-made tools. One carcass can feed a small pack of Vargr for a week or more.
