Your Stereotypes are NOT My Gender

greypillow

I originally started this drawing last year, when I was really starting to look at my gender more and think about what it meant to me to be trans, and how other people perceived me.

I was angry, because I felt that if I wore ‘girly’ clothes, then I would be seen as a girl. But I could never pass well enough to be seen as anything else either. It was frustrating.

It took a long time, but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that everyone else can go fuck themselves.

My gender is NOT defined by other people’s stereotypes.

The character pictured is also trans, and she has the same feelings I do on the subject. <3
