Sinking SLowly

Grassstrand

Dakota sighed, sitting back from steering the boat. Nearly a month had passed, and yet here he was. The grief and guilt of losing his love still ate away at him, and when the feelings left, they returned shortly after, like a reopened wound. He could take his mind off of it, for the most part, by doing things he loves, take now for example. He was out fishing, boat bathed in moonlight as it slid through the water with ease. His ears flicked up, catching the spash of a fish, distinguishable next to the sound of water slapping against the boat hull. He looked ahead, to see seemingly clear waters, no apparent dangers, he would be fine for his short trip. He dashed out of the covered section, and to the back of his boat, wearing only his helmet, the rest of his armour sitting unused in the corner. He stood at the back of the boat, staring out at the vast sea behind him when a flicker of gold caught his eye. He watched in awe as a golden magikarp followed the boat, scales flashing briliantly through the water. It turned to and fro, body made for the salty water. As it suddenly darted to the side, Dakota couldn't hide his confusion when it dawned on him. He was at the northern coast line, a very rocky area with a drop off. Time seemed to freeze as he turned around, and made a mad dash back to the wheel, only placing his paws on it before the giant rocks before him began to tear through the ship, sending him flying back.

He was dimly aware of hitting his head on a rock, which threw off his helmet, and then a mixture of splintered wood and rocks ripping through his flesh. Then he was aware of the sensation of sinking. He couldn't move, only watch his life flow away from him, the color scarlet as he sank beyond the drop. He wasn't all that worried, about death that is. He would be with his love then right? Jane? He could see her again. His heart fluttered, unaware of the agony he should be feeling. But what if he didn't? What if he never saw her again? A wave of sadness hit him as he sunk down. But his world was going black, he would have to just wait and see.

Yeah. Just wait...
