These two have an interesting relationship. Sarkis is the leader of a small group of Goldenwing survivors. He and his group ended up freeing a group of Fire Wingly women from slavery, Maera being one of them. XD To show the men their gratitude, the Fire Winglies would all stick around them to cook their meals. Maera is the head chef of her little group, and is the best cook out of all of them. XD; She ended up getting a huge crush on Sarkis, and became his little fangirl.

The two would eventually become mates, though Maera treats Sarkis like he is above her. She only addresses him as 'Sir', and never calls him by his name. She takes extra care into making his meals special. Funny enough, Sarkis is actually a really bad guy, having done terrible things to many people all for revenge, including attacking Koodaray's wife Yassai, and kidnapping their daughter Adrian, only to leave her to die in the woods. Despite all this, Maera blindly follows Sarkis, and trusts that he has his reasons for what he does.
