I completely changed her design though she's still the same character.

She's very smart, so she's very skilled in using magic, as having a stronger mind gives you better control over magic. She usually only exercises her mind though so she's not that strong physically. Whereas Zanimo hates studying so his mind isn't as powerful and he only spends time exercising his physical body so he just really, really, REALLY sucks at magic. So to feel better about his lack of magical skill he teases Nephria about her enjoyment of knowledge and studying, calling her names such as Nerd, and Book Worm.

I've also made a slight change to the dragon forms each Dragon has, while they're young they can change only parts of their body into their dragon form. But when they have gained better control of their dragon form (usually around the age of 10-13) they can do a full body form change. I plan on giving them some kind of more powerful form change that they can unlock, kinda like an upgraded form of their dragon form. This form would then be their permanent dragon form.
