Overview

Sweefels are felinoid/rabbit creatures made entirely of candy and sweets, and brought to life by magic.

Guidelines

Extra Guidelines

  • Horns can be any length, they can also be drawn as broken
  • Theres no restriction on markings
  • Almost any colour(s) can be used (see restrictions)

Restrictions

  • Black and shades of grey aren't allowed. Sweefel's are colourful creatures.
  • Rainbows aren't allowed. They're reserved for Melia the original Sweefel.

Anatomy

Sweefels have bunny-like faces and feline-like bodies. Their horn(s) is part of their skeletal system and are made of spiraling hard candy. Their innards are also all candy, with gummy worms for their digestive system and koolaide for blood to name a few. The innards can be any colour within the guidelines. They also have retractable claws, like felines. These claws are also made from their bone-candy and, being tiny- are quite brittle. They often break when they're used.

Sweefels aren't born in a traditional sense, instead they are brought to life via a great concentration of magic. This can be in the form of a spell being intentinally cast, or over a very long time when ambient magic in an area accumulates to a massive degree and it has something sweet to infuse into.
They have a supernatural healing ability and can regenerate themselves so long as a single piece remains. The greater the damage, the longer this takes. To regrow a horn takes about a day, so to regrow a limb would take a few days, and so on. Only one piece will regenerate, as the Sweefel's soul can only reside in one piece at a time. The unoccupied piece will lose it's magic and become just regular candy.

Lore

It is told that long ago hidden deep on an elder forest was a court of faeries, tall and fair, with great magical power. Their queen was named Fenumiel and her husband had passed many years prior. One day she decided to make for herself a pet to ease her loneliness. She gathered the finest sweets from the realm to make up it's body, hoping it's demeanor would be equally as sweet. But she didn't want just a mindless beast, so the queen delved beyond golemancy into ancient magics, finding a spell that didn't just animate, but created a sort of soul. As a final touch to make her pet distinctly regal Queen Fenumiel took a piece from the rainbow bridge between worlds, Bilröst, to use as part of the creature.

Having gathered all she needed, the Queen then began casting the spell. For 3 days she wove the ancient magics into her creation, and on the fourth morning she finished the ritual. Her creation however wasn't moving. Exhausted and feeling defeated the Queen retired to her chamber to sleep.
Hours later she turned in her bed and felt something there next to her. Opening her eyes she saw an adorable little creature, about 2 feet tall and simmering with rainbows, sitting on the bed looking at her.

The creature made a purring noise and spoke in a child-like voice, "You made me, right? Mama?" Queen Fenumiel was surprised. She was expecting intelligence but not speech. But her surprise quickly turned to joy and she sat bolt upright and hugged the creature. "Yes, yes I did" she said between joyful laughter. "I will call you Miela."

Later that day the Queen gathered the court to introduce them to Miela. The creature was a hit among the court and word quickly spread. Families all across the kingdom also desired a pet like the Queen's, so Queen Fenumiel gave a decree that permitted mages to create creatures of their own, similar to Miela. She decided to dub this species Sweefel's. The only restriction she put in place was that rainbows were reserved for the royal family.

Sweefel's soon spread through the kingdom, with traits varying based on the skill of the mage who created them. No mage, however, seemed capable of creating a Sweefel with two of what had been dubbed "rare traits", the magic proved too costly and complex.

Centuries passed and eventually Queen Fenumiel passed away. Miela, and the other Sweefel's however, did not seem to age. They watched generations come and go, and eventually witnessed the fall of fae peoples all together. The magic that once gathered around the fae dissipated and spread across the world. With the fae gone the Sweefel's too dispersed throughout the world to find their own purpose. They learned to collect this dispersed magic and how to use it to make "children" of their own. Sometimes large amounts of magic would converge naturally and cause Sweefel's to be born without intentional casting.

One thing they all share even now though is that they remained sweet and drawn to innocence and purity.
