Birds and Horses, living together? Mass hysteria!

Actually, this was taken last year at the beautiful St. Louis Carousel at Faust Park. The carousel was built in 1926 by the Dentzel Company of Philadelphia, and is the only surviving ride from the Forest Park Highlands Amusement Park, which burned to the ground in 1963. This is a truly beautiful carousel, with all the animals being the hand-carved originals, save one. (and that one is on display in the building. I recommend seeing it if you are in the area. Kookie here certainly had fun, he rode it twice!!
