Shasta's design was quite a snowball effect.

When I was creating her, I was kinda inspired by another character who was also a tribal fighter themed salamander in a roleplaying group also I was hyped out after watching too much Kengan Ashura, Baki and Killing Bites. Her basic design was inspired by EzzyEcchi's "No Rawr" monster girl (pointy teeth, claws, elven-like ears). And after that, I wondered about a strong sounding name for her... Out from nowhere I remembered the videogame Disgaea had characters named after volcanoes and for a salamander, it was quite fitting. So, as I searched about several volcanoes around the world I found the perfect name for her in which is the Californian volcano Mt. Shasta. And immediately after that I decided to follow the mindset when giving her parent's names and I found some nice sounding Hawaiian volcanoes names and I decided she would be an Hawaiian. Hence the shark teeth tattoo on her, and I had to made them yellow to give her a fire-salamander'esque appearance.

Now, her last name I don't think it's correctly written... Still, I got fond separating the prefix "Ke" (that means something like "The") with a dash before writing "Ala Koa" (Path Warrior so her last name means "The One Who Follows the Path of the Warrior" in a sense).

And to finish, she would be related to a traditional warrior family, who passes all the secrets of Kapu Kuialua to the new generation and follows the Kure Clan's ideology in handpick who would be the best man to marry with her judging them by honor and moral and strength.

Oh yeah, those pads on her thighs was kinda inspired by Shiina Marvel's attire from Bloody Roar 2.
