Serenity and fireflies

Ghostbear

Carefully Sascha made his way up into his new treehouse he and his stepfather had build over the course of the last two weeks. It was already getting dark, the last couple of days of summer. Still warm enough to play outside, but a bit chilly at night and getting dark earlier.
The little bear boy set down the sippy cup full of juice he brought with him, dropped his pacifier on the wooden plank and flopped down with a soft crinkle.
Clutching Sammy in his arm and cuddling him close he looked up into the darkening sky.
And suddenly it began. As if somebody had flipped a switch flyflies started to light up. First a few, then more and more ... until a whole swarm of those tiny glowing bugs where hovering in the air and crawling over the leaves of the tree.
With honey colored eyes wide and his mouth open Sascha enjoyed the miracle of nature in childlike innocence and amazement.
"See Sammy, what did I tell you? Isn't it wonderful?"
Ghosty's plushie companion seemed to agree fully as the pair just sat there and watched ... until it got late and he little bear was called in for his bedtime.

What can I say... other than that I am soooooooo happy with the commission  dulcis made for me? Such childlike innocence and amazement, so adorable and sweet.
