Avalanches around The Augre are no uncommon sight and the valeks inhabiting the various mountain villages are very knowledgeable of this. These very villages were built with avalanches in mind, placed such that the torrents are guided gently out of harm's way. Nothing tends to work out perfectly, however, and nature is still an uncontrollable wild beast.

Flares are shot from the various watch posts to warn the populous below of the oncoming storm of an avalanche. The watch-post guard hasn't seen one this big in decades. Upon firing their flares, they watch in horror as the monstrous avalanche careens past them. They fear not for the villagers below, for they have further safety precautions for this sort of ordeal; bunkers, safe houses and the like. Instead, the guard fear for the single valek who's leading the entire charge, gambling within a few feet of his or her life.

Spotting the torches on the valek's back, the guard can't help but wonder what a fire dancer was doing atop The Augre and how he or she could have caused this torrent. All they knew was that either that valek would have quite the story to tell once it reached the bottom...

or that the lone fire dancer would never tell another story ever again.

I can't help but feel that posting this as my first picture might be slightly misleading in terms of how much skill I actually has an artist (seeing as this took me an exorbitantly long time to draw), but as of right now, it is the picture I am most proud of! As misleading as it may be, there's nothing else I can think of that would make a better first post C:
