This is an older piece of mine, before I learned how to anatomy hahaha. Apologies for my sucky Doctor :P

I actually came up with a small story sample for this over on deviantART, here:

"I know how you feel"

Ratchet glanced towards the Doctor. His pain and loneliness hadn't escaped Ratchet's notice, for he showed all the signs Ratchet had from being separated from his own kind for so long.

Ratchet approached the Doctor.

"My kind were "wiped out" a very long time ago too. Me and my pal.... we're looking for them. They're out there... just not in this dimension".

The Doctor didn't meet Ratchet's eye, but deep down... he was happy to have met someone who he could relate to on this matter.

"Dimensions.... of course" the Doctor all but whispered. "Your species seems to have been very resourceful. The Timelords never stopped to think to escape, they fought the Dalek's until the very end, fuelled by this... anger. I suppose, backing down once in a while and running away isn't a bad thing."

Ratchet chuckled, without amusement. He was lucky really... at least there was still a chance... however slim it may be... to find his own kind. But the Doctor? He was doomed to be forever alone, watching his companions live and die as he carried on travelling through time. It must have been so difficult, Ratchet thought.

"You know..." the Doctor mused; "I could take you back. You could save your parents, you could have your family back".

Ratchet considered for a second, but then noticed Clank shaking his head in the corner of his eye.

"No" he replied. "That's not the way it was meant to be".
