Sparx is learning fire magic, and one of the abilities to learn is called 'Melt Materials'! It's usually recommended to start with things that are easy to melt like ice or wax! Sparx saw no reason to go out to do this ability since the kitchen where she lives had plenty! ...Unfortunately when you melt ice you create water and now Sparx is being yelled at by Alma. She's probably not going to get to practice this ability indoors next time...
