Moipa by Gaasuba

Moipa

Gaasuba

A species created alongside the Tarakonan. Most of the design came from a friend and I just drew what she described. Carly! When you read this, keep an eye out for things I forgot!

The Moipa are a peaceful race. Their skin is soft and often slightly moist like that of a salamander or sea slug. They excrete pheromones that add to communication and poison when they feel threatened. Their vocal language consists of pops, drips, and a few squeaks and chirps.

Moipa always have two antennae, a ridge above their ear, and a bumpy raised area on their back. They have varying patterns and slight texture mutations such as the curled antenna of this example. Another Moipa I have yet to depict has a stunted 3rd antenna and their ridges and tentacles can be shorter or longer. They can be any color but tend to be lighter and never getting darker than 100V. Their blood color is a slightly clear violet.

They have the ability to scale surfaces like a gecko and wear minimal clothing when not around other species. However, they always keep their slit covered for modesty.

They breathe through their skin. Their diet consists mostly small aquatic life and minerals from clays and rocks. Their sex organ is located between the legs and gapes slightly when aroused. Hormones then come into play based on if the individual is taking the submissive or dominant roll and the organ either gapes further if they are being submissive or bulges outward if they are being dominant. They excrete waste from a hole at the end of their tail which is surrounded by the tentacles there.

Moipa mate for life and have massive litters. They are barely able to move during the last stages of their pregnancy and rely on their mate to take care of them. Until their medical technology developed far enough, it was extremely common for the birthing parent to die, leaving the mate and clan mates to raise the numerous young. Sex is extremely pleasurable to them as it was required to make the risks of child birth worth it. Because of the risks and stresses of child birth, only a few are willing to go through with it sense the invention of birth control. Those that do go through with it are given the honorific "mama" while all parents are referred to as "papa." The mated pair will usually only keep up to 5 of the offspring and give the others away to non-birthing mated pairs.
