This is why you don't play with ancient knives.

STORY: Part 1/5

It was a beautiful summers day and it was my day off I just planned to take it easy and enjoy the day… well as best I could there was the constant sound of trucks going by hauling dirt back and forth from the nearby gravel pit. I did not mind I was use to the noise since I did live on a busy road to begin with. It was just too nice of a day to care.

I sprawled out onto the grass wearing nothing more than some shorts and a black muscle shirt, just laying there enjoying every moment …… until my stomach let out a ferocious growl…... I guess it was getting a bit late time to head in and make supper plus get ready for another day of dull work tomorrow.

Before I headed inside I walked across the road to grab the mail but on my way back something shiny caught my eye. I walked closer to examine, amongst a large pile of dirt along the side of the road there was a handle sticking out. I bent down and pulled it out gently… it was a dagger a very old dagger it was beaten up and had some sort of ancient writing on it. I figured it must have bounced off the top of one of the gravel trucks …..must have been buried in the dirt some sort of artifact. I decided it would make for a good souvenir and brought it inside and cleaned it off examining it more thoroughly.

I began to feel a bit strange as I looked the dagger….. I felt almost drawn to it not realizing at all my mind was slowly being hypnotized by it….. unaware of my hands moving closer and closer to my side… until suddenly I snapped out of it as a sharp burning pain shot through my side. I looked down horrified at what I had done. I had sliced the knife into my side!

Dropping the blood covered knife to the ground I clenched my side as my black shirt quickly turned a dark red color around the cut. My heart began to race as a burning sensation began to spread through my entire body, it felt so hot almost feverish I began to sweat like crazy. In fact I began to feel very ill and weak as I dropped to one knee I could barely move I felt so frail. The panic set in as I thought to myself “it must be infected I need to get to the hospital” I tried to move but I could not I was paralyzed in place for I had no idea what was about to happen.
