Pumpkin research notes of Dr. John P. Taylor - Hunting Behaviors and adaptations.

Information collected from interviews with affected individuals (conducted by a non-infectable proxy) suggests that the host remains in control and completely lucid after being converted, with one major exception: when they make visual contact with a potential host, they will without fail start to make advances upon them. Most strains will engage in stalking behaviour (unless they have a large enough numbers advantage) in order to get close enough to capture the host, larger strains will opt for a more aggressive strategy.

Smaller hosts usually are given various specialized means to help spread themselves, such as extendible vines (with a record length of about 30m), digging claws to quickly ambush from underneath, and vestigial vines used to hold additional pumpkins for conversion. Larger ones generally have adaptations geared towards increasing their strength, agility, and speed (it should be noted that both sizes are still stronger than the average person, but the smaller strains are generally not very agile, and cannot run very well).

Under no circumstances should one go out alone in an area where they exist.

Woo! Soft shading! I luv it!

Done for Sig122, the first of several to join the pumpkin horde.

Also, I find this music fits the situation rather well.
