Despite their cephalopod design, Elid inhabit both air and water. They attack by wrapping their tentacles around a foe and squeezing, slashing with the sharp ends of their tentacles, sending out red orbs that stick to the target and slowly damage it, or by releasing a toxic gas. They are not the fastest enemy, but their high defense can make them a pain to kill.
