Learning Flash: Mech Design for Shooter Game

█ Working on my Flash game a bit, and this is the mech design I put together that I'll be using. Pretty generic but I think it should get the job done. It has cannons on the back and shoulders, as well as two arm mounted cannons.

The arm cannons will serve as the special attack, bringing both together to fire a more concentrated blast. They are currently hidden behind the hands, so the idea is you have to blow the hands off before you can actually hit the cannons; or to simply attack the arm cannons when it's 'charging up'

As far as mobility goes, I think I'll have it 'disabled' if you shoot off each foot and the back mounted unit (which would be similar to the mechanics used in Battle Clash when you shoot out the legs the mech would fall to the ground)

I figure I'll have the eye serve as a firing point as well in the event all other things have been shot off.

That's my general plan for combat with this mech anyways.

█ The next step will be to put this thing into the game itself and make all the individual parts destructible and what not. Once I have it all propped up, I'll probably consider the game 'finished' and move on to another gaming project as opposed to creating more mechs to be shot at.
