When I was little, if you asked me what my favorite color was, I would say “Pink!” I used to bully my sister for liking blue instead. But I slowly realised that I only did that because I was always told that my favorite color should be pink. I was conditioned before I could even value one color over another.

When I was about seven I started noticing that pink didn’t look any better to me than any other color, it was just some color. I decided that my favorite color was green later on, and just the same way that I had acted to my sister, every girl I mentioned it to proceeded to give me blank stares, asking why I didn’t like pink.
