Species name: Ashikun Maten (Ah-shee-kuhn Mah-tehn)

Size: ~30 in/ ~76 cm long

Sexual dimorphism: Males are a bright golden color with purple cheeks with spots of red and blue throughout the body. Female are a dark brown with the top half fading to a bright green.

Habitat: Lush forests of North-Eastern Lician.

Diet: Herbivores. Diet consists mainly of tree leaves and bark. Fruit and flowers are eaten when in season.

Breeding: Breeding occurs in Anraelnar (summer). Females have 1 or 2 babies that are fully dependent for 2 years.

Maturity: Males-4 years. Females-5 years.

Lifespan: ~60 years.

Behavior: Shy in regards to other animals, these animals are very violent among each other. There is a strict hierarchical system led by a dominant male and female. Females will often fight over young and food. Males will fight to the death over territory and breeding rights. All males born into a troop are driven out by the dominant male when they reach sexual maturity. Troops are very loud both with vocalizations (screeches, howls, and chatters) and with clumsy movement through the trees.
