Today I posed a question on Mastodon and Twitter: In the world where I went looking for work at DC or Marvel, what character would you be delighted to hear I ended up with?

People posed a total of fourteen characters, most with only one person suggesting any particular one - but the clear winner was Doctor Strange, who had four different people suggest him. Five, if you count the suggestion for his equally-magic-wielding ex Clea. Six, if you also count the vote for Dr. Fate, who is basically DC's attempt to fill the same "super-magician" slot, with the bonus of giving me an excuse to occasionally try and draw like Kieth Giffen deep in his Munoz era.

This was not anything I would really have thought of on my own but, you know I could see myself getting into it. Pull out my Op techniques, find a lot of excuses to make images that leap off the page and occasionally make your eyeballs bleed. So I searched some reference and started badly drawing the first ones that appealed to me. About an hour later, I had this goofy thing.

Seriously what is up with everyone throwing horns in Ditko's stuff. Is everyone a metalhead or are you trying to bless the readers.
