this is what I use for drawing.
Samsung GALAXY Note II (AT&T)
running Android 4.4 KitKat (AOKP ROM) instead of the official craptastic samsung firmware
drawing app: LayerPaint
Motion Computing LE 1700
128GB SSD
2GB RAM
1.5GHz intel core 2 duo processor
Windows 7
drawing application(s): PaintTool SAI, Photoshop
I do most sketching on the note 2, linework on the LE1700, and coloring on both. Both are synced via Google Drive, so just about everything I draw has at least one thing done on either one.
I bought the LE1700 off ebay early last year when I got tired of doing poor linework on the Note 2 and a Note 10.1, went with an old used tablet PC instead of a new surface pro not only because it was far cheaper, but I want nothing to do with windows 8.

its alright, terrible battery life (minutes, not hours) and intense SAI drawing makes it get hotter than the surface of the sun, and a pretty terrible display, but it gets the job done

I guess the design of it looks good, but the actual component's implementation isn't as good?

its just old, its a 2008 model i think.

if they had something newer that does basically the same thing that would be cool- do they still make that style or are they all iPad-like devices now?

That computer looks awesome! I'd rather have one like that as apposed to the washed out mobile style ones they usually have now...
