Decided to revamp this for the third time.
I tried something new this time and tried to make the visualization look like solar flares by using a combination of layer modes, distortion effects and vector blurs. I'm really impressed with how it came out.
Made entirely in After Effects, if anyone wants to use it I'll be happy to provide the project file.
