Noodle Surfing

Nothing beats flying through the air on a pair of noodle dragonesses, soaring through the clouds and diving down only to pull up and do it all over again. Better than any roller coaster, more fun than jogging and gives quite the leg workout staying balanced. 

I love it.

But don't try this at home, it's not a sport for the unprepared. It takes a lot of work to get to this point, but work that is well worth it. If you do want to get into the sport I can give some tips as it's not really as dangerous as it looks. Noodles are extremely quick and dexterous and if I slip they can easily catch me, as long as I'm not too close to the ground. Lysha will just grumble at my carelessness and having to work extra hard.

For starters, you have to make sure your girls are maintaining the proper distance.  Too far and you can get a painful split, too close and they will be rubbing against each other and bumping hips. They will need plenty of practice keeping the right distance, especially through turns.

Eastern dragon flying is a very up and down and wavy motion, the key to it all is to keep your girls synchronised, making it easier to stay on top.  The two techniques are fully in sync with both girls moving up and down in tandem, or an out of phase technique, where one goes up while the other goes down. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and a good rider trains his mounts in both.

You don't want to start out in the air of course, so leading them around on the ground first is best. Just get a good grip on a muzzle strap and walk them at a brisk pace.  Make lots of slow turns back and forth in between long runs, and be sure to bob their heads to get them used to moving together.  Don't forget to keep their bodies undulating to simulate flying. Heads, shoulders, hips and tails should all be in motion.

Once that's done, riding on their backs is next.  This is tricky, as running is nowhere as smooth as flying, and I try to move on to flying as soon as I think they are ready.

Don't forget to warm up your girls first with some stretching first, and be sure to limber up yourself.

Lysha will need plenty of pets and snuggles and extra brushies after this. She's royalty after all, and needs a bit of nudging to let me ride her and plenty of aftercare or she gets extra spicy. Don't worry, Lacrima gets plenty of cuddles too!
