Homosassa Springs feeds into the Homosassa River and the park was built around the spring it self. The water animal enclosures are sectioned off of the spring and creek, with a final gate blocking off the access from the river that can be opened and closed for wild manatees to enter during the winters. The sections are fenced how with a bridge and barrier to keep the animals from mixing together. This is the alligator pond, and boy do they have a lot of these beasts. The otters and Lu the hippo border them.
Here's a map of the park for better idea of the layout. http://www.manateecam.org/images/Homosassa%20Springs%20map.pdf
