Welcome to today's SOTD! I already received my new webcam, so welcome to the world of 108-- no video. Yeah, I'm having issues and I'm trying to fix 'em. Seems the basic Lifecam software I've been using forever only records videos up to 720p, so I had to make the jump to VirtualDub and fished for settings and codecs for hours. At first I'd get 5,5gb per minute but I managed to lower it to 1.3gb/minute thanks to FFV1. Problem is, VirtualDub records in .avi and Movie Maker is so basic it can't handle .avi so I had to make the jump to... there's the issue.

I tried Lightworks, which is supposedly the best free video editing software but I find it to be a complete piece of shit since it can't open .avi either, and I've been trying out things for a good two hours so I think I'll just upload this here for now and keep searching for a solution later, since I have other things to do.
