Her dress isn't nearly as shiny as the photo.. I guess it just hit the light right. XD I really need to scan this.
But it does have a gold sheen. ^__^ Kinda messy but my first full WC pic.. so yay!
I can't tell if you did or not but you should use the salt technique next time you do stars! It really adds a lot. [Explanation to follow so forgive me if you already know!]
You just sprinkle salt on the paint while it's still wet and the salt absorbs the water [and paint] around where it's sitting and leaves a light spot there.
I can't tell if you did because this technique renders a lot of different results depending on how wet the paint is and how much salt you use, so it kind of looks like you did! But if the paint is more wet, it yields a more drastic effect. ^^ Google "salt watercolor" if you want to see lots of examples of the different effects!
Oh yeah! I've seen lots of awesome pics with salt. I am just kinda afraid to use it because of the unpredictability, and this was my first large scale pic. I've also seen really neat results with adding salt right into the water and bleach right into the water. So I have lots of experimenting to do! ^__^ I was going to do the toothbrush flick for stars but I already peeled the frisket off before thinking of it. D: I had just bought white opaque ink for it too.. lol
I do really want to try it for my next pic though as it will really fit with what I am imagining the pic to be. :D
