Birthday gift to my friend, Kitsunelobo of FA! His kitsune character, Freya. He got a framed print and a full resolution digital copy.

This was really fun and challenging to paint, I’ve never done anything quite like it. It was an interesting experiment with perspective, lighting and texture. Three things I’m working to improving right now. There is a lot I like about this piece, heck that I’m even proud of. But there is a lot I don’t like, but that is to be expected with my first complete digital painting. I’ve told myself that I have to start somewhere and this is it. So for now this is the finished style I am working towards, completely painted with no lineart/inking. It sort of feels like I’m starting all over again with digital art.

Oh I also got the chance to tryout a new brush, when I was about halfway thought this piece. It is lovingly titled “The God Brush” by it creator DreamSpirt. It is an amazing brush, made to mimic a real paintbrush. I will defiantly be using it for future paintings.
