This took a while.... but quite happy with the end result.

Behold my own stab at creating my own species, complete with look and lore for everyone to use! ;)

This particular one is Lexyn, he's mine though, so no touchy! :P

So yeah, about the species...

Toxa are a species of celestial beings that were once tasked with the protection of newly formed worlds. They would make their home on the newly created world, making sure everything progressed according to plan. They would balance eco-systems, protect the world against supernatural and extraterrestrial threats, and when they were positive the world would be able to manage on its own, they would fall into a deep slumber.

Toxa posses the ability to peer into different realities, as they exist both in the present physical realm, and the ethereal one, where all dimensions and realities converge. This gives them their distinct, glowing and mysterious appearance.

Toxa appear as a blend between (eastern) draconic, feline and (in rare cases) other mammalian species. They have distinct manes running down their head, back and tail. These manes are always the same colour as the runes and sigils adorning their bodies. The runes on a Toxa grant them the ability to practise their magic, move between the two worlds, and also give a hint as to which type of magic and personality the Toxa embodies.

Azure Toxa represent intuitive, sharp-minded and efficient individuals, who usually practise air as their form of magic. They are the best flyers of the species. Red Toxa are passionate, hot-headed, stubborn members of the species. They practise fire magic. They are the best fighters of the species. Green Toxa are grounded, rational, wise and patient individuals. They practise earth magic. They are often the leaders of their respective groups. The blue Toxa are the emotional, empathic, curious members of the species. They practise water magic. They are the best magic-users of the species.

The male to female ratio is approximately 3 to 1. The Toxa are a predominately male species, as such they hold the female form in high regards. They are fiercely protective of their females and only the most devoted and skilled Toxa of any type may choose to accept the honour of mating with their corresponding females.

Because female Toxa are considered equal to their male counterparts, even in battle, at least one female per type is constantly guarded, often referred to as a 'The Xeaty', meaning 'The Lady', to avoid the species' extinction should a catastrophe befall them.

Toxa usually choose not to increase their numbers unless their numbers dwindle. They are an immortal species, as such they can go for millennia without ever having to increase their numbers of create newborns. If the situation does arise, the female will become pregnant for one year, and the resulting offspring will always be one girl, and two boys. It takes around 1 year for a Toxa to reach full maturity, at which point they remain permanently 'frozen in time' in terms of age.

Toxa only re-awaken from their slumber when a world is on the brink of imminent peril, or when their existence has been revealed to the world. More often than not, they choose to hide away deep within the world's core. They are not a hostile race, and value all life on their world, but will not hesitate to utterly annihilate any threats they come across which would seek to harm their world.

In the case of Navras, however, the case may not be all that simple...

So yeah, if anyone would ever use this species as an inspiration or adopt it for their own purposes, please be mindful and respectful of this information and provide the nessecary credit. That's all I ask. :3 Not that anyone will, but doesn't hurt to mention. ;3
