This piece is inspired by many things.

Prior to Rainfurrest I was reading up on Native American mythology involving tales of the trickster Coyote, mainly "Giving Birth to Thunder" by Barry Lopez, and "American Indian Trickster Tales" by Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz.

One re-occuring theme I enjoy involves Coyote building the world and the animals. I eventually settled on the spirits in the sky to reflect that of the Haida art and culture you see here on the West coast.
