A $5 full body ink commission inspired by art nouveau work, to help me practice where I want to take myself as an illustrator. I noticed that some poster artists of the era would block out sections they wanted to darken with a dark color or black, entirely, instead of using a gradual shading technique. As I've been trying to play with linework (you'll notice my hair shading is absent here) in an effort to see how much detail I truly need to add before a piece is cluttered and busy, this is intriguing to me and I hope to explore it more.
