Her current name was actually inspired by her species’ scientific name, I admit… I’m pretty sure “Stenella” means “narrow” or something like that, while “coeruleoalba” seems to basically mean blue and white. So yeah…

She and Nikko the bottlenose dolphin are currently the protagonists of an overly ambitious novel I’ve been working on for eons. Starting from when they’re both either just calves or little more than calves, close to the same age, they end up developing a very close bond. From what I’ve heard, it’s very uncommon for Striped and Bottlenose dolphins to associate with each other, and so in real life it would be unlikely for them to become best friends, and if they did it would be extremely unlikely for that to be a long-term relationship… as it is for Nikko and Sky-Sliver… that’s actually part of the reason why I decided to make the protagonists the species they are in an unlikely rather-romantic-best-friendship… Their story is a lot more complicated than that, but that’s all I’ll say for now. \o/
