Ever since the early months of Taylor's creation, I always had in mind that Taylor would have some form of special powers. At the time, it was quite unclear what sort of powers those would be, however I eventually settled on powers of electricity that could be drawn from her synapses in her brain/nervous system that if used extensively could weaken her physically. I built upon this basic idea and began outlining what powers could and should be in her world. She gains more over the course of the books, but her initial and iconic set of powers still revolve around electricity. She uses this notable power a lot during the events of book 2, so I figured it be cool to have an epic action shot of her in the punk look she sports during that book. When Taylor and Ahya are faced with vicious opponents, she becomes a force of nature with her powers that can spell death for those that get on their bad side.
