One of the design decisions for Marle was her taste in clothes... or lack thereof. She grew up in a family situation where she was neglected a lot and had to figure out a lot of things for herself to include fashion sense. These days, she doesn't care what people think of her choice in clothing styles and wears whatever the heck she feels comfortable in. If they clash horribly and make others cringe, that's not her problem. Faux furred shorts with colored leg warmers with a see-through plastic coat? Sure! Looks fantastic to her! She'd rock that outfit without a care in the world.
