Marle didn't have the best upbringing. Abandoned at a young age by her parents at an orphanage in Zabokar due to being a runt of a giraffe and embarrassing her family for something she had no control over, Marle didn't feel the love a parent should show their offspring. Living day to day in the orphange among other cubs, kits and calves just as downtrodden and alone, she only had the Matrons as parental figures and they were typically too swamped with kids to devote much time to any one specific child. After being kidnapped by the Arbiter on a raid of the orphanage, she was experimented on with the others with his DNA ray that genetically infused magic into her very being. Being trained up as a child soldier and suddenly inundated with powers that did not manifest right away, her fragile mind became fractured. After a botched sting operation by the local Zabokar police, she escaped through the tunnels of Zabokar and out west towards the desert. There she met an old goat named Mrs. Hircus. She took an immediate liking to this wayward giraffe and brought her under her care - giving and showing the love she should have been receiving all along. Mrs. Hircus stitched together a small bathing suit for the growing calf and would sneak her out to the oasis nearby Palaveve for some fun in the water. It was one of the happiest moments Marle could remember. A memory she would cherish long after she left Palaveve. Her time with the goat was all that staved off the encroaching madness her childhood had wrought. Her magical powers combined with Mrs. Hircus's teachings about how to enjoy a hobby of making plushy dolls put her on a path to coincide with Taylor's. Fate is a funny thing when its movement of the pieces cannot be seen by the naked eye.
