This is quite the timely piece. What's even more ironic is some of the running themes in Taylor's books and how her viewpoint of the world is one of the underdog. Law enforcement and governing bodies have done little positive for her because of her unique nature and tailmaw. She's known a lot of strife in her young years since Ahya's first kill - the pivotal moment when her life turned south. As Taylor grows older and returns back to the city of her youth, she finds the place corrupt from top to bottom and there is not much worth saving except the few she cares about who have little choice but to live there. So this becomes a very current piece especially with what's going on in the world and some of the themes running through the newly release game, Cyberpunk 2077. "Wake the fuck up, Samurai. We got a city to eat!"
