There comes a time in everyone's life where things seem hopeless and that everything is going against you. Maybe it is friendships falling apart, maybe it is projects you worked so hard on failing before your eyes, maybe it is that one job you were hoping for that went to someone else (possibly less qualified) or any number of other negative things. Sometimes all of these stack up at once and you seem like you are floundering at life that you become disillusioned to it all and just want to run away and escape from the insanity. You have a deep-seated depression and want to check out and become absorbed in your own world where real life can't touch you. However it can, and it will, regardless of how badly you want it to go away. Life isn't fair.
