Naronian Pauldrons by DanoGambler

Naronian Pauldrons

Ok, first I would just point out that in a comic sence, all this nitpicking about functionality and practical explanations is totally unnecessary. It's totaly in aersonal interest that I'm "designing" this actual functional piece of armor. It's partially because I'm so sick and tired of all those "plastic fantasy" designs. I mean it's just so boring. With an actual functual process of manufacturing, you can come up with a ton of different stories! What I'm strying to say - i think - is that it's worth shecking into and do some research about. You will find a world of practical possibilities to ann intricate design without getting all "Warcraft" ish....

Anyway!! This is the pauldrons that goes with the gear of the regular Naronian military units. The scarf is tied and fastened undernieth the cuirass, while the pauldrons themselves are first tied in the "nipples" of the harness and then secured with straps on the back. The result is a very neat and durable piece of jointed armor that will protect agains heavy blows from above. The decorative leather pieces that hangs down on the front side are - besides protecting the armpits when the arms are lifted - a badge and serves as a identification of the different units. What makes the difference is the pattern displayed on the first leatherpiece. Thereby, all soldiers can be recognized in their own unit.
