OoooooOOOH THAT'S SO AWESOME ~! That must have been such a beautiful sight to see! What cool neighbors to have ;3; I hope they're back somewhere close to you again this year ^^ I lived in a swampy neighborhood for 3 years a while back, and man you get the coolest critters in swamp settings! Totally worth dealing with the crazy mosquitoes, haha.

Great Blues are so awesome! Not to make you jealous, but a pair of them made a nest in some trees behind our property last year, where there's a small swamp. I never went to go look at their nest and disturb them, but we'd see them coming and going all summer long. I liked watching them land in the trees... it's like watching planes land, they have to give themselves SO much room to angle it just right. Then they dangle their legs out and make this weird scratchy-honk sound. I called it their landing warning, lol.
I have only seen one this year in the same area, maybe the other is already sitting on eggs? Hmmm... I hope so. :3
Anywho! This guy is so cute! I love his feet! :D
