I drew this one when I hadn't yet made a map of his red markings so I added those only recently (I hope it doesn't contrast too much >.>; )

The red patterns on his back had partially dissapeared because of the very heavy and messy scarring of his skin. When he was found by his adoptive father, Sain and his real parents had been tortured ruthlessly by some demons, sadly his parents were already dead and though Sain was pretty close to dying in the end he was saved. However his wings had been torn and crushed to the point it was impossible to save them, so the scraps he had left had to be completely removed for him to be able to recover and move normally. Ever since then Sain suffers "the missing limb syndrome" and sometimes his missing wings hurt as if they were being torn apart all over again. He was around five years old when he lost his wings and his family.

I love Sain, but he's such a sad character in many aspects ;-;
